The pictures taken with this 12.1-MP waterproof camera are best in low light, high ISO and daylight. The lens is pretty wide at 28mm, and the zoom can go up to 128mm. Overall, the images are second best to Canon, although the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 is more practical and portable since it does not have a protruding snout.

The video capability is best at a high resolution of 720p, which can be stabilized and recordable in motion jpeg or AVCHD lite.

Priced at $400, Panasonic has yet to announce the final date for this camera’s release.
